3rd party keyboard in messages app

Recently after doing a mass update on a bunch of apps my 3rd party keyboards have stopped showing up in the messages app. I'm using the organic iMessage/text app and on iOS 12.1.4. the 3rd party keyboards still work in other apps ie. Facebook, Safari etc.
