Lifx Z light strips won't stay connected to HomeKit

I just purchased some smart light strips by Lifx that were compatible with HomeKit. Setup was fast and easy and everything connected just fine with the Lifx app and with HomeKit. I could use Siri, set up shortcuts, and create scenes just fine. About an hour or so later, the lights stopped responding with the HomeKit app. I followed Lifx's instructions about when devices disconnect from HomeKit but the problem persisted. I was told that I might need to purchase an Apple TV device or a HomePod to use as a hub, even though Lifx's website stated that I did not need to connect to a hub with their light strips. Is there any fix for HomeKit not staying connected besides buying a hub?

Hello, zwatts!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I understand that you have compatibility questions about your new LIFX smart lights and HomeKit.

I recommend trying to set the lights up in the Home app again, if you haven't already: Set up and use the Home app - Apple Support

You mentioned that LIFX suggested using an Apple TV or HomePod as a hub, but you can also use an iPad, if you have one: Set up your HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub - Apple Support

I hope this helps! Take care.
