MacBook Pro early 2011 issues- 3 beeps/synced with LED, now blank screen

Just as a background- I have an early 2011 15" MBP, originally with 4 GB RAM, but bought it through mac mall with a memory upgrade which is a Kensington 4-+4... 8 gb ram.

in Dec 2015. Images in screen would vibrate a deep reddish purple. I found out that Apple had a recall of models including mine. The logic board, video card and more were replaced for free, and shipped back to me within 4 days, but thus happened or I wouldn't have known about the problems.

2 years go by no problems. Running slow but I have a lot of stuff on there - needs housekeeping.

Then the MBP fails. The technician was going to try to repair the logic board, but found out the GPU is integrated with it, so he had to replace it . $550!

then last year, my MBP only booted up part of the way, he said HD was no longer booting up the MBP I needed a new HD. I went ahead and agreed to go from original 500 GB to a 1 TB solid state drive- very fast.

Not sure of when this occurred but I would see the LED in from flashing 3x in sync with the 3 beeps.

but is it really the memory ? So if i get it all checked out, and memory cards are ok, seated in the slots fine, and it's still beeping and flashing- then what? What else could it be ?

The flashing LED is to the left of the 1/2 slot where you expect to see a light. But the flashing is to the left of that. You can't see the source when not flashing.

it would start up with opening sequence, then beep and flash . It would crash in the middle of a project. Some weird stuff would happen then disappear, like it went into dos or operating code mode.

I noticed when the beeps occur, even when it's beeping in the morning left Inc sleep, the bottom of the case of ny MBP is warm. Isn't the fan supposed to be off when powered off?

Now over the last 2 days the apple appears on the screen then progress bar scans halfway, then goes ALL WHITE!

Are these 2 separate unrelated issues ?

or connected? Is the RAM issue definetly the problem causing the flashing and beeps

And what's with the abrupt freeze up or shut down , the sudden reboot up, the send reports to apple? I copy then I never here a reply! Why send the crash report? Can they identify me and the MBP ? Do the support advisors have ACcess's to the reports? I copied and pasted them with my comments on my notes app.

Oh and 2 weeks ago, the tech had to rebuild the desktop reinstalling Yosemite. I lost over a month of work! I now try to use time machine every day.

Also sometimes on startup you don't hear the chime, so I power off then on until it does. What does it mean when no chime?

Lots of questions, and a lot of stress. It's not helping keeping my Crohn's disease under control- . I hope you can address the issues and help me get my

MacBook Pro working again. Thank you in advance!

Definitely sounds like a bad / loose / dirty ram connector issue. The 3 beeps is a POST hardware check error indicating RAM.

What you should do is take out one of the RAM sticks and see if the problem continues to occur over several cold boots or not. If the problem persists replace that RAM stick and remove the other stick, and repeat the test.

If you can narrow it down seemingly to one "bad" RAM stick or the other, also make sure it's not a socket-issue and try just the bad RAM stick in the opposite socket, and just the good RAM stick in the opposite socket.

You'll want to make sure you also clean the contacts of the RAM sticks such as by using a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol. You can also use a can of office-store compressed air to make sure there is no dust in the sockets.

You can easily replace the RAM w/ a new 8gb RAM kit (4+4) for your early 2011 MacBook if both sockets are good, and one RAM stick is clearly bad.

You can also use the built-in Apple Hardware Test and select the optional memory test to thoroughly test the RAM:

With these laptops the memory slot nearest the bottom case can be problematic. I also suspect the memory may be faulty or not completely compatible with the Mac. Personally I think it is time to get another laptop since the shop which replaced your Logic Board does not appear to be an Apple Authorized Service Provider. If an AASP did not replace your Logic Board then there is no way to tell how healthy the board actually is and it may still have a potential GPU issue.
