Mojave - Top Row of Keys Mismatched

I've seen a number of questions about the top row of keys not working/leading to the wrong shortcuts. However, the “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” checkbox that seems to be the solution isn't appearing as an option in my keyboard settings. I'm using Mojave 10.14. Any ideas?

Mojave stopped allowing to switching input sources in Apple programs Hi, Mojave (10.14.6) suddenly stopped allowing me to switch from one input source to another -be it manually by clicking the keyboard option at the menu bar or by hitting Option Space. Why did my keyboard short cuts stop working after todays macOS Mojave 10.15.4 update? I use the short cuts to speed repeated replies to the same correspondence all day. They stopped working after today's update. They really save a lot of time for repetitive typing. I read previously about their length, but that is not the case here; they all stopped working. Help?

Here's my MacBook…

Try restarting your Mac.

If that doesn't work, test a different user account. Test while in Safe Mode.

Normally that happens when using a non-Apple keyboard.

I'm using the macbook keyboard and don't have any special settings turned on (that I know of...).
