Are you using the "+" button to add audio tracks, or the one next to it, ("add tracks with duplicate settings")?
If you've previously panned an audio track, then this will be duplicated when creating a new track (if you select the button pictured below).

Ha... I remember this happening way back in Logic 3.5 & all the way up to 5.2.
On my system it was always left, never right.
I think this weirdness in Logc Pro X is different but pretty sure it related to the Output section in the create new tracks dialog. Make sure nothing else is selected except Output 1&2.
Latest!
if I turn off ascending when creating a new track, then its fine!
but if I check ascending and create 2 audio tracks, they are panned left and right!'
I just need them down the centre!
its not the end of the world of course! Maybe just one of those quirky Logic/computer things! Or maybe it coz I am not using an audio interface?
Hey kerochan,
I just had this start happening to my sessions as well, can't figure it out!
It was not happening before, so either it was within an update, or I accidentally tweaked a program setting without knowing it.
Every time I add any new tracks they are hard panned.
Creating one track always pans to the left.
Creating more than one track, the odd tracks are hard left, and the evens are hard right.
Are you recording a mono signal to a stereo track? This will result in the audio only being on the left side.
Not recording anything, just creating a new audio, its either panned to the far left or right!
So you mean that new tracks are coming up with the pan knob already turned to the left? That is really odd...
Yes, very odd!
Thanks FLEXIS
no,, I am actually opening a new tracks pop up window and clicking audio track and create!
Thank you Octopi
yes thats the output that is selected!, 1. & 2! Same problem
Here's another oddity, I have been importing stems from a protools session, and ALL the stems when importing into Logic, start with the setting of hard panned left.
So we still dont have an answer to this!?
if I create say 10 audio tracks they are hard panned left or right.
I have to then manually centre them all.
any help!?
I still have this problem, yes!
