How much does it cost to replace a mac air screen?

So basically my school issues MacBook airs for the students. I was in a rush and put a packet of papers (like five pages) between they keyboard and the screen and shut it as i didnt have time to put it in a folder.

Long story short somehow my screen went full cowabunga mode, there are horizontal lines flashing that could probably give someone a seizure, theres a long grey rectangle on the side and theres a pink streak that looks kinda like blood across the diagonal of the screen.

Keeping in mind that they're issued by the school, how much do y'all reckon it would cost for a repair or just an outright replace? I can check tomorrow but my anxiety is forcing me to ask here now

Thanks!

PS:

There was a problem in my reply, and then an edit failed to take.

As you need to inquire of school district administration about their damages and liability policy,

as they own the unit. If you have documents on the storage drive and need them, that may be

a priority to you; hopefully you have a backup.

Given the ownership and future of their product is in the hands of another party, you essentially you

are a third-party; the school district likely would choose to handle repair/replacement on their own.

You may still get an estimate, on the repair (or replace?) depending on age and if like-for-like

is possible. As stated, we're not able to reply for Apple; but you could get Genius appointment

for inspection and estimate; &/or repairs, with authorized Apple service. ~ Check options here:
