Why are my contacts syncing with another iPhone

My contacts are syncing with my sisters iPhone. We each have our separate Apple ID and iCloud account. How does this happen? When I deleted some of the contacts manually from my phone it automatically deleted on her phone too. Which caused her to lose important numbers. Please help.

iPhone X, iOS 12

The only way that can happen is if you are sharing an Apple ID for iCloud.

Go to Settings->Account(top of settings)->iCloud and make sure you are using a different apple ID there for each iPhone.

If they are different, then there is no connection between your device and hers and anything that got deleted on her device would have no ties to whatever you did on your iPhone. It may have just been a coincidence.

No. Wifi does not share contacts.

Again, make absolutely sure the Apple Ids are different on each iPhone.

You can also check to see, that email accounts like Google, or hotmail are not being shared in Settings->Passwords & Accounts. If you are sharing one of those, and saving contacts to it, then deleting contacts would sync.

Beyond that as I said, it could have just been a coincidence.

Though the question rises, why do you have similar contacts to your sister?

One thing you can do to prove they are not connected, is create a test contact on your iPhone. Then check in hers and see if it show up there.
