how to organize or hide imessage thread

Is there any way to organize imessage thread similar to an email inbox? Like the ability to store away messages so I dont see them anymore without deleting them, but then if the person texts again they reappear in my thread (similar to an inbox)?

Or even the ability to "hide" messages like the Groupme app, that when hidden people/groups message they reappear.

I am exhausted by my overwhelmingly long thread of messages from communicating with so many different people at work, but I don't want to delete the messages. I just want them to be hidden when there is no longer an ongoing conversation with them.

I have not found anyway to do this. Maybe I've just missed it, or this is a really useful but overlooked feature that other apps/phones like Android have.
