Have Apple changed iTunes with regards to Photos on your iPhone?
I used to be able to copy my photos from iPhone to Photos then ensure iTunes uploaded them to my iPhone. Somehow, all my photos are now safe on my MBP but I can't see them on my phone now. I like to keep my photos on my phone (I don't take many) but now I have an empty phone but still have copies on MBP.
How can I get the pics back on my iPhone?
See Designate a System Photo Library in Photos - Apple Support. If it is apparent set correctly choose a new system photo library, then see it back to your main library.

Thank you for this. Even though all the settings were correct but the next time I checked, it seemed to work. iTunes wasn't recognising the Photos file at all. I wonder if this was related to the recent OS14.5 upgrade as my SD card (where the Photos file is stored) is mounting and unmounting all the time.
