System information report

Hi,

I have got a dead MacBook Pro 15 inch (Early 2011), but I received this Mac after it became unable to boot (it really is a hardware thing, like the battery is missing from the first place).

I wonder if there is any way that could find out what the technical specification would it be on this dead Mac? I need to know the CPU model and I pulled the hard drive out and was able to access the files, is the System platform report stored somewhere or it is just a temporary note that grabs every time when the program needs?

iMac, mid-2011 Technical specifications.

As there is a System Information application in Dock : Launchpad : Other, or /Applications/Utilities, I suspect that it dynamically generates the unique, current machine report each time that it is run, rather than store potentially outdated information on disk.

You can also go directly to System Information by option-key + menu : System Information…
