German Umlaut not working on Chrome 74.0 on MacOS Mojave

First, Apple does not respond here, these are user to user forums and we do not work for Apple.

And, Chrome is not an Apple product.

Well, there was this post, which counting yourself, makes two, unless you found others. It could be a Chrome extension. That's why checking on the Chrome forums might be helpful.

Works fine for me in Chrome 74.0.3729.157. it's how I typed in the ü in my first post. In any case, As mentioned above, Chrome is not an Apple product so Google Chrome help would be a more appropriate place to ask. FWIW, It also works in Firefox, Safari, Brave, etc.

I suggest you type option u then u again. ü

Thanks for your quick reply. It only doesn’t work in Chrome. I saw this forum last night and others had the same frustration. I tried changing the keyboard layout, but no success. It might be a plugin in Chrome causing this, I’ll have to go through one by one disabling them...
