Mid 2017 Macbook Pro (A1708) SSD issue not viable for recall

I have a June 2017 A1708 macbook pro with what I assume is an issue with the SSD. It regularly kernel panics and very often boots with the missing folder icon. But my serial number is not viable for the recall. Is there anything I can do?

Yes, you can take it for assessment, creating a service record at the vary least for the issue, and at best a repair.

Is this going to be out of pocket—only the Apple store can answer that question.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—
