Why is it when I am on FB or other sites on my MacBook Pro and I have to access a photo, it wants to access it from the pictures folder instead of Photos. I have photos in the pictures folder, but they are there for a particular reason, and not general photo library. Can I change that in Photo Preferences?

Thank a lot for your reply. My screen is a little different, but I was able to find it on my Mac. The ‘Show In Finder’ is highlighted, but the ‘Use as System Photo Library ‘ is grayed out.?.? So I’m not able to click it. Grrr
In the browser window go down the sidebar to the Media section. Click on it and then on the Photos library in the right window.
The Photos library must be set to be the System Photos Library.
If it's greyed out then it is the system library.
Huh. Then why doesn't FB and other sites requesting a photo go to Photos? It goes to my pictures folder where I can't access the photo I want..
