email keeping emails for up to 90 days, even though deleted from my server

I have an iPhone 7S. I have my email account set up on this phone. It is very frustrating as every time I open my mail I have over a 1000 emails. I have deleted them on my server account, and I even shut my mail off when not using it. I still get emails back to March right now. I know I've deleted these, but they keep coming back.

Sounds like you have the account set up as a POP3 account. POP3 does not synchronize messages between the server and clients.

Set it up as IMAP instead if your email provider supports it.

If your provider does not support IMAP, switch to one that does. POP3 is considered obsolete.
