Can't change the calendar of an invite.

Hi

When I receive calendar invites on my phone Im unable to change the calendar in which they appear.

Selecting calendars only shows those calendars from my icloud account.

I have a handful of other calendars synchronised to the phone. They are all available when creating new invites. I need to have the invite show in a synchronised gmail calendar.

The invite was sent to a gmail email address.

The gmail address is already added in the "contactable at" section in icloud preferences.

The gmail address is already added to my info in contacts.

This post suggests this should possible.

"If you were invited to an event, you can change only some settings: your status, the calendar where the event appears, the alerts and your availability."

Any thoughts on why these other calendars are not available for invited events?

I not sure thats correct. It coming from another gmail user. Calendars are custom to each persons phone and accounts. An invite gets added to a users chosen calendar associated with the email it was sent to (automatically or otherwise) when they receive it.

Its also not what this says...

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/calendar/if-you-cant-change-a-calendar-or-event-on-mac-icl1033/mac

"If you were invited to an event, you can change only some settings: your status, the calendar where the event appears, the alerts and your availability."

And the calendars that are available are not those from the senders calendars, but my icloud calendars. So this doesn't tally either.

I am able to change which one it appears in but am limited to my icloud calendars instead of all my added calendars.

The invite was sent to my gmail address. But those calendars aren't available either.

If this invite was sent from another gmail address, to my gmail address. Why should this only be visible in icloud calendars simply because its being viewed in the iOS Calendar App?

Other solutions to this issue suggest these "other" calendars need to have their email associated with the icloud account. Which is already done. The icloud calendar is also not my default calendar.
