iTunes wifi sync

I'm trying to enable itunes wifi sync on my ipad. I connected it to my computer and enabled sync my device over wifi on itunes but when I open wifi sync on my ipad through settings it only says that I have to connect it to itunes and click sync this ipad over wifi. Any idea on what's causing it? My ipad is not recognized even if they're connected to the same wifi.

iPad, iOS 10

I trust that you can sync the iPad if you connect to the computer using the cable or you would not have been able to set up WiFi syncing on the iPad in the first place.

If that that is true, I would try restarting your iPad, and reboot your computer as well. If you still can’t get it to work, connect with the cable again, sync your iPad again, then try enabling WiFi sync again.
