Podcast not updating in iTunes

Hi - my podcast is The Juice & the Sauce and my RSS feed is https://thejuiceandthesauce.podbean.com/feed.xml. I published a podcast episode yesterday morning (5/20), but noticed an audio issue on my end. I corrected the issue and republished the episode last night to override the episode with bad audio. When I play the episode from the host website the new version plays without issue. I refreshed my podcast feed on Itunes Connect twice, which iTunes confirmed went thru. However when I play the episode from iTunes it still plays the old episode with bad audio. Any idea what can be done so iTunes correctly pulls the updated audio file?

Thanks,

Greg

You give the feed URL as https://feed.podbean.com/thejuiceandthesauce/feed.xml

The Store page for your podcast is at https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-juice-the-sauce/id1369753117

This is not using the feed you linked to, but whatappears to be the same feed at https://thejuiceandthesauce.podbean.com/feed.xml

They both appear to have the same episode file. It may be that they are exact duplicates. Your web page appears to be using the same file, and on a very quick check they all sound the same, with slight distortion on the voices.

I assume when you corrected the audio you gave the file the same filename: this may be the cause of the issue. Doing this can cause a cache somewhere not to update (The Store and iTunes do not cache the episodes).

I would suggest that you rename the corrected file and adjust the site and feed accordingly. Then you can check the feed the Store is using and make sure it's changed. The iTunes application should show the change immediately, but the Store may take a bit of time. Of course any subscriber who has downloaded the episode will still have the old version.
