Microsoft Outlook doesn't work on iPhone XR

Microsoft Outlook doesn't work on iPhone XR. After installing Outlook app it is neither synching with my MS Exchange account nor it is allowing to write a new email. However, the stock mail app on the phone is working fine with my MS Exchange account. So this must be something to do with compatibility between Apple and Microsoft. This must be fixed asap.

You do not require Outlook App at all.

Go to

Settings > Password & Accounts > Add Account > Outlook > [Enter Your credentials] > Save

See the GIF for adding Gmail, the process remains same for Outlook.

That's It

Thanks SravanKrA. But not sure what you mean by "You don't need Outlook App at all.".

As I mentioned everything including my work emails are working fine in the phone's stock mail app. But I want to use Outlook App for work emails. It is my choice and iPhone should not prevent me from using Outlook App. I hope you get it now.

Recently Microsoft Outlook have changed the way it syncs with the iPhone.

When you add the microsoft account to the mail app in Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add account, Microsoft outlook will send you an email that is easily overlooked. Within that email it says something along the lines of, "We've noticed you've signed in on a new device, do you want to use the Outlook Mail app or continue using this device" You need to respond to this email to allow your information within the email account like messages, contacts, ect to sync onto the iPhone. You can also manually sync the information from within the settings of the Outlook Mail app if it's already installed on the iPhone.

Hi,

I'm having same issues. I switched from 6 to XR a week ago. Everything was working without a hitch and today i receive notifications with hours of delay. Deleted the app and re-installed, refreshed the background app to be turned on and off as well as notifications or outlook. Restarted the phone, ensured all notification from Outlook are setup correctly. Outlook and iPhone have a disconnect. I also tried adding an account through instructions above and it did not allow me to do so
