can i trade in an iphone 8 with water damage

I have an iphone 8 + that has a small amount of water damage. The phone still turns on but the home button is a little wonky. I was wondering if I brought it in to be fixed, could i then after it being fixed, trade it in for an XR?

What could be the trade-in value of a water damaged phone My phone has water damage and I was trying to figure out what could be the trade-in value if it still has one. All the buttons worked and the camera worked too. Now the follow technically does turn on because when you hold down the power button the apple symbol comes up but the iphone doesn't fully come up. You may find that the fix is not worth the cost. You can still try to trade it in and see what they offer you. You can use Apple or another third-party, like Gazelle, for this.
