All the events on my Calendar, past and future, have disappeared. The calendar was synced to Google Calendar. How do I restore all events, past and future, to my iPhone?

Found the problem - in the one place I hadn't thought to look yet. When I'm on my calendar I must have sometimes accidentally hit Calendars at the bottom of the page. I never paid attention to what came up, I just hit "Done" to close it. Last time that happened I must have accidentally hit "Hide". I didn't even know until now what I did to bring up the Calendars menu. Thanks, KiltedTim. I learned several new things today - and got my calendar entries back.

Then try turning the calendar sync for that account off, then back on again.
They haven't been deleted, there was some kind of interruption in the sync with google's cloud service.
Settings>Passwords & Accounts>yourgmailaccount
There should be a toggle switch for the calendar.
Turn it off. You may want to reboot the phone, then go back in and turn it on.
Log into your google account. Are the events still there?
Check with Google support to see if there is a way to recover their calendar.
Yes, they are still on the Google calendar.
I should have mentioned that my Google calendar is still okay; all events still show up.
Is that the "Export" button under Google Calendar Settings - Export/Import?
In other words, how do I do that? Do you mean turning off the calendar sync for my Google calendar or the iPhone calendar? I can't see any way to do that on either calendar.
Also, I can't add new events to my iPhone calendar manually.
