Icloud
icloud has taken all my documents and now I cannot access them.
How do I get iCloud to simply backup my files, and leave the originals on my iMac.?

Go to System Preferences/iCloud/iCloud Drive/Options and turn off Optimize Mac Storage, Towards the end of the article are instructions for getting the files back on your computer.
