iTunes error 500 message

I've purchased a song on iTunes but it failed to download, instead showing a message saying that an internal error has occurred, and the download screen shows this message "stopped (err = 500)". Is there any way of fixing this, especially when I've purchased other songs at the same time (the song I have the error message on I purchased as part of an EP with other songs) and those songs (including the other songs in the EP) downloaded with no issue?


I've tried resetting the internet and restarting my computer, as well as trying to download the song on another device, with no luck. I don't know what to do now to fix this.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help downloading a purchased song. It sounds like you have received error 500 for this song and other songs you purchased were able to be downloaded without trouble.


Trying to download on another device was a great troubleshooting step that helps isolate the issue a bit more. At this point, your best bet will be to contact Apple Support.
