iCloud Photo's stopped syncing....

All,

My photos.app on both my Mac and iPhone have been syncing flawlessly for years. This morning I noticed pictures and folders stopped syncing. When I looked at my iCloud system preference, I saw the Photos checkbox was unchecked. When I tried to enable it, I got an error that iCloud photos is only available on macOS Standard, macOS Extended and APFS formatted volumes. My drive is formatted APFS. Any ideas? Again, iCloud photos has been working for a long time, and the only recent change I made to my Mac was updating the OS to 10.14.5 yesterday -- I'm guessing that is to blame??

All,

I fixed my problem, and as a Mac IT professional, I'm embarrassed with my resolution of a phrase I say several times a day: "did you reboot the computer?" :sigh: that fixed my problem.

I have seen no issue as you describe along these lines.

Did you try signing out of iCloud and back in again.

You do not state what exact Mac/model/size/year/touchbar this is ?

One thing I see is your HD is critically full. If this is an SSD—they actually need ~25% free space to work efficiently.

Another question would be if TRIM is enabled on this, if an SSD?

Mechanical HD need at least 10-15% free space to at least function.
