Why does a 45 minute outdoor bike ride--activity is on-- only register 3 minutes of exercise on the watch?

I ride my bike every day. And can spend up to 2 1/2 hours on it, but only get credited 88 minutes. The Watch uses your heart rate age sex height and weight to calculate exercise minutes. The more you ride the harder it gets to earn the minutes. I would suggest you recalibrate your Watch. Then go for a walk or run for at least 20 minutes plus check your personal data is correct

I am getting the same result with the outdoor bike exercise. When I am keeping both hands on the handle bar, nearly no exercise is registered, but when I am ignoring the traffic rules and take the arm with the watch off the handle bar and let it swing freely, the watch counts the exercise nearly for the full time of the bike ride.
Yeah, noticed yesterday that stationary bike give no minute credits. Curious glitch that watch does not think biking is exercise but includes it as activity. But my body knows better so I can live with this. Thanks
Aaah... I see the issue. I have some major health issues and exercise appropriate for a normal person would kill me. The only thing that I look at i step count withe the Steps App and that's where I'm seeing the zero with the treadmill.

Reset your watch by pressing in the crown and side button until you see the Apple logo, then release both.
Because you're not moving your arms.
Yeas that was an issue with my Garmin activity tracker but the Apple watch counts time on a stationary bike when neither my arms nor the bike are moving. Thanks for the idea though
Hmmm...
Why do I get zero on the treadmill?
I get on a treadmill, bike or stationary bike, no problems at all
Treadmill doesn’t record for me but I’ve got more important things to worry about.
Makes sense to me.
Strange use mine daily and get credited it for the exercise minutes.
Do you get a step count?
