AirPods Microphone is Broken

My right AirPods mic has always been broken and was defective since I got it but a while ago my left AirPod mic stopped working. Even when changing the preferred mic to left or right and both don’t work. The annoying thing is that in order to talk I have to put my AirPods back in their case so that I can use my internal microphone on my phone. I assume the left one might not be completely broken since if it’s super loud it still picks up some distorted sound. Is there anyway to clean the microphone holes? I assume the bottom and the small dot on the side is where they are.
