Can someone please help me diagnose this issue. I have locked up 4x today. Weird thing is I still have a mouse cursor that is active around the screen. I am running 10.14.4 (18E226).
Computers is really lagging even when typing this message. I can provide any information that would be required. Just getting really frustrated with this issue.

shut down and disconnect all external devices
reset the smc

repeat 3 times
reset the nvram
How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
repeat 3 times
boot into safe mode
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support
then reboot normally.

and I'm going all caps so someone here posts easy directions for you as I have to run out of the office.

Working fine so far today. I tried the restarting with resetting the VRAM and SMC etc. I also Removed Clean My Mac. So hopefully a combination of these fixed the problem. Thank you
