Apple Watch Series 2 stopped charging after software update 5.2.1

I’ve had my Apple Watch for several years now and never had any issues with it, but since updating the software to 5.2.1 it has stopped charging, it simply will not go above 5-6% charge.

I’ve tried all the usual trouble shooting suggestions, switch it on/off, full reset, different charging cables, but all have the same result. It makes all the right sounds like it’s accepting a charge but simply not charging!

Any suggestions or others having the same issues?
