Unable to reinstall Google maps

After restoring my iPad 2 from a previous backup Google Maps will not reinstall. It shows it in the Cloud but after trying for a few seconds it says "Unable to install at this time". Tried restarting device, even signing out of Apple Store, to no avail. Same with other Apps like Youtube. Please help!

iPad, iOS 10

What you're running up against is you are now forever locked at iOS 9.3.5 on your iPad 2 and Google no longer supports new downloads for your older iOS version. They require iOS 10 or higher. That may not mean you're out of luck however.

Try the following steps:

tap on App Store than on "the person in the circle" (top right corner) than on purchases/ your purchases. You will see a list of all apps you ever downloaded; I think you will find a running Google Maps that's not in the actual app store.

Thus I was able to find an older release of a missing app for an older iPad.

Good luck
