How do I send iMessages with a voip number

I don’t have a regular number, only voip. It’s super annoying trying to text other Apple devices cause my messages always fail

You can only use email address as your send from or receive to then. To use a telephone number you must have a cellular service assigned telephone number used with your iPhone. You cannot use a VOIP number as your messaging telephone number with iMessage.

The iMessage service authentication system for iPhone uses a cellular telephone SMS message with a supported carrier to link your device telephone number and AppleID for use with iMessage.
