Can't download amazon prime app with iPad

I own Amazon Prime. I recently had trouble viewing the app on my iPad, so I deleted the app and attempted to download it. Since I own it, the little cloud shows up and when I click it the download appears to start, and then suddenly stops with a message saying that it can't download at this time. No matter what I try it just won't download. What's up with that?
