This doesn't happen with any other browser. I have to click on the tab with YouTube each time to make the next video finish buffering and start. Why must there always be some problem with garbage Safari?

Have you checked Safari/Preferences/Websites/Auto-Play to make sure Auto-Play is enabled for YouTube?
Without selecting Auto-Play in Safari 12.1.1. Preferences : Websites : Auto-Play, I have autoplay working on YouTube.
and as soon as Toy Story 4 is done, it proceeds to play Peppa Pig if the Cancel button is ignored…
When you are watching a Youtube video in Safari, click in its Settings while playing in the browser window, and verify that Autoplay is enabled.
I don't have a Youtube account, and the Autoplay settings are available in the current video's settings when it is playing in Safari. Select just the Trending heading to get a particular category of videos, and test with those.
I clicked Trending and no playlists are showing up, unfortunately. When I try one of my playlists, the settings at the bottom right of the video only show playback speed and quality. Safari and YouTube are currently teaming up to be one giant mass of malfunctioning garbage, it seems. I'll continue to keep you posted.
I'm not referring to the actual auto-play switch on the video. I'm referring to the fact that Safari disallows YouTube from playing the next song in a playlist created by me on my channel. I have an Allman Brothers Band playlist, for example. After the first song is over, it loads the next song, but doesn't play it if I am using a tab other than the one with the song on it. I have to go back to the YouTube tab in order for it to start playing. Hugely aggravating and substandard of Apple. Thanks for your time trying to help fix this, regardless!
Wow. I thank you, and you meltdown like a snowflake. :'D Not my fault you have no critical thinking skills, or class. I never mentioned any autoplay switch and the word 'playlist' is in the question itself. Now, get an education.
Well, evidently now, YouTube is not allowing anybody to log in due to an error. Slobs surround us. I'll keep you updated.
