I searched for this topic & found a lot of stuff, however was unable to add my comments/questions.
My X essentially does not work often times while my 4 year old iPad works just fine at the same place/same time. I have reset the network settings moments ago --- Any other comments/suggestions?
iPhone X, iOS 12
No further ideas, except removing the case (if present) then test it
and/or
making an appointment at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider. After checking it out (antenna?), they'll give you all the available options: Apple – Location Selector
