Files App “Content Unavailable” Error

Hello,

So I’m sure many users have experienced this issue. I want to use the Apple Files app so that files from all my services are in one place. The issue is, whenever the Files app sees too many files, it just glitches and says “Content Unavailable” due to an “Unknown Error”.

I know from other forums that this error is caused by having too many files in one folder. But I don’t even have that many files in this such folder. Probably about 20. This needs to be fixed please Apple. This is a stupid and simple error to fix and it’s been around way too long.

Maybe this app will work for a little kid who stores his favorite 5 photos in a folder. But it doesn’t work for most people who store 100’s of files for school and work. Also, there’s no support topic for this app...

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

Since it seems to be a common problem, I don't know anything else to suggest but to send Apple feedback in hopes they will fix the problem.

On the device where it isn't working, try a reset.

Reset Device

If necessary

Hard reset

Do a backup and try a factory reset.

Restore to Factory setting

Oh sorry about that. I thought they did. The issue is I don’t see a feedback topic option for the Files app on their feedback page.

I am having the exact same issue trying to access OneDrive through the files app. The crazy thing is that it works like a dream on my iPad with all the same accounts. Go figure.
