Is the "Find and Replace" tool capable of replacing text with text that is formatted differently?

I want to bold every instance of a particular word in a document from, for example, "Word" to "Word." The Find and Replace tool only seems able to replace text with different text but is not able to format the replacement word. Am I missing something? Advance thanks for any help I can get.

Apple does not keep full installer versions of past versions of Pages, Numbers, or Keynote. Pages '09 v4.3 simply quit working from Mojave 10.14.0 through 10.14.4, and only started working again with 10.14.5. There is no assurance that it will continue to work with future Mojave updates, and as a 32-bit application, simply will not work on macOS Catalina.

Although one could purchase the retail iWork '09 DVD on Amazon or Ebay, it will be almost useless until it is updated with the iWork 9.3 Update, which provides the last revisions of the '09 applications.

Thanks, Peter. Based on your tip, I searched for the full download of 09 and could not find it (I'm running Pages 08 on Mojave 10.14.3, by the way). Apple has all the 09 updates, but not the full app. Not sure what that's all about. Also, I tried using Pages on icloud and it must be an older version because it doesn't allow text formatting on the "replace" field of "find and replace" either. So I guess I'll just have to give this up and start obsessing about something else.

Thanks, Viking. I did read a lot of complaints about Mojave and Pages 09 incompatibilities. I'm just gonna let well enough alone and clunk along with 08.

I don't keep up with the latest OS news so didn't know about the imminent release of Catalina. Kinda freaks me out a little bit because my mid-2014 Macbook Pro might not be able to handle it, and I don't have any intention whatsoever of replacing it any time soon.

Thanks again for your response.

Pages for iCloud is updated when Pages for Mac is updated, and it is a subset of the latter's features. When you open a Pages '08 document in Pages for iCloud, as soon as you attempt to make any change, Pages for iCloud will convert that Pages '08 document into the current Pages for iCloud/Pages for Mac document format. This is not a backwards compatible exercise, and Apple does not provide a means to export back to Pages '08 document format. Thus, my advice is to only work on duplicates of your Pages '08 originals.
