Dear all,
How can I hide all file extension on my macbook Pro Mojave please?
MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14
Finder > Preferences > Advanced > Show all filename extensions.
Not that it will help but some files will always show an extension. Depends on how they were created.
I have unchecked this option and I am still able to see the extension of each file like in the first picture.
What shall I do not stop file extensions please?
note: I shutdown the laptop and the extension did not disappear yet.
Thank you for your swift reply.
I have noticed something that all new files are not showing the extensions after uncheck the extension feature while the old are still showing like the screen shot below
Thank you for your swift reply.
I have tried that but nothing is changed. Do you think i should reboot the laptop?
That's probably worth doing. It has been so long since I changed that setting that I don't remember if I did anything else. If that doesn't help, someone else here will likely jump in.
You're welcome.
Thank you again but that solve the half of the issue. What shall i do with the saved items, how can i hide their extensions please?
You're welcome. You would actually have to rename the file and remove the extension manually.
Thank you again, but this is so annoying solution.
Indeed. Perhaps someone else knows a way I don't.
