Hypoallergenic watch?

Hey Apple! Can you please make an all plastic Apple Watch so those with a severe nickel allergy can get one? Pretty please?!

If you select the correct model with aluminium case, and the correct sport loop band, it is already possible to have an Apple Watch without exposed nickel. The magnets and electronics will still contain nickel and stainless steel but it is enclosed and it should never come into contact with the user.

According to the Apple Watch information page, even the aluminum case contains nickel.

"Nickel. Apple Watch models with a stainless steel or an aluminum case, the stainless steel portions of some Apple Watch bands, the metallic portions of the Hermès bands, and the magnets in the watch and bands, each contain some nickel. However, they all fall below the strict nickel restrictions set by European REACH regulation. Therefore, while nickel exposure is unlikely to be a problem, you should be aware of the possibility in case you're susceptible to nickel-related reactions."

The aluminium alloy used for the watch case should not have any nickel in its official analysis - that would be an impurity if it reached measurable levels, and cause to reject the material. The difference in melting point between nickel and aluminium makes it extremely unlikely the refiner would even be able to cast acceptable ingots with significant nickel contamination. That doesn’t entirely rule out nickel, but if present it would be below the sensitivity of routine analysis.

It appears the other nickel containing components of the main watch body are enclosed or encapsulated within the watch case, and contact with them would only be possible by dismantling the device.
