AirPods settings and firmware

My AirPods connect to my phone and iPad however, “AirPods” does not appear in the Setting, General section. Thus I am unable to determine the firmware version. Additionally, no options appear in the Bluetooth menu under AirPods aside from Disconnect and Forget This Device. Help!!!

You are absolutely correct! I had our IT guy at work look at them today and, after about an hour of trying to figure it out, someone else came to the office with AirPods. We compared them and figured out there were some very slight differences! So frustrating. Went to Best Buy at lunch and now own a pair of REAL AirPods with no issues! One way or another I will be getting my money back for the others.
