Magic Keyboard - hitchy and glitchy

Just bought a new Magic Keyboard and for some reason the number pad doesn't always register when I press the keys. Especially when entering my password on boot up. Does this think take some tome to wake up? Weird.

Appreciate and assistance.

Cheers,

Another issue can be what sort of devices you have connected to

you're MacMini. Sometimes they can cause interference, especially

at boot time with Bluetooth. Also, operating via WiFi can also rarely

be an issue. Also, do you have any other Bluetooth devices assigned

to your Mac?

I don't have the keypad version, but do have the new Magic Keyboard

(purchased recently) and is working without any issues as you describe

with my iMac.

If possible, use the Lightning charging cable and connect it directly

to your Mini and see if the issue persists.

Also, one other thing, how far away is the keyboard from the Mini

and is there any sort of obstructions between?

Unless you rely on the drives for operation, I would test

the keyboard with them disconnected. USB3 drives have been

notorious for interfering with Bluetooth on Mac Minis. Some

times a simple relocation or rerouting of cables solves the

problem and surprisingly, it may sometimes only be an inch

or two.

There is also another possibility since you say it is the number

keypad that is most problematic. It may just be a bad keyboard.

It does happen.
