What is Blue Jeans and why does it need to be updated?

Hi,

I recently upgraded to iOS Mojave and just got a notification that "Blue Jeans" is no longer compatible with my current OS. I had no idea what "Blue Jeans" is or why it's installed on my macbook (Retina, 12-inch, early 2016). Google tells me it's a video conferencing software, though I'd never heard of it before. I have the exact same issue on my iMac (2014), but I've never installed any software called "Blue Jeans". I can only assume it came bundled with something else, or was auto-installed by Apple as with Pages and Numbers. Can I just delete it?

MacBook, macOS 10.14
