Inquiry about Card Verification Process

Hello,

I recently tried to add a new debit card and I have been failing to do so, because the apple pay verification system is keep sending the verification code to one of my old numbers. I wondered that it could be my problem not updating the contact number for the connected account. I just updated the phone number and the system still sends the code to the old number. I would like to figure out how I can add my debit card. :)
