locked iPad
Message says I must connect previous owner in order to help unlock my iPad. I have no clue about who the previous owner may be. Now what?

Now you recycle the device or use it as a paperweight or get your money back. You cannot bypass Activation Lock. Apple WON'T Help you and we CAN'T help you. You purchased a useless device unless you know and can reach the previous owner.
NEVER purchase any iOS based device unless you have validated in person Activation Lock has been removed.
