Why does lock in Pages sometimes work and other times it’s not available? I have a page with multiple text blocks and graphics that I want to lock in position and “lock” is grayed out.
MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14
Select one of the objects (graphic or text box), then click the format brush and chose Arrange.
Do you have the object set to "Move with Text" or to "Stay on Page"?
Objects set to "Stay on Page" can be locked.
Objects set to "Move with Text" cannot be locked.

Thank you, you solved my problem. This forum is much better than trying to watch a tutorial. The tutorials are great but, they are so involved that it takes a lot of time to find the answer to a simple question. Thank you again this was a real time saver!

Before you lock a "Stay on Page" object, explore the options in Format Panel > Arrange > Text Wrap, Text Fit and Spacing.
You can select several objects with command click.
