Spotify not working on watch

My Apple Watch is cellular but Spotify isn’t working whenever I don’t have my phone nearby to play music from just my watch with my AirPods.

Spotify on watch Hi I recently purchased Apple Watch 5 with 4g. I bought it mainly so I can go running without my iPhone and listen to music through Wireless headphones via Spotify which I understood was possible. however despite the headphones being connected, when I click on the Spotify app on the watch no music plays. The only time it plays is when the phone is nearby and the music plays out through the phone which is useless. can someone help!?! Thanks so much

Apple Watch - Spotify Hi, I've recently purchased a apple watch series 4 and I'm wondering if I can download music onto the spotify app and connect my AirPods and listen to music without my phone in range as I purchased the cellular watch. Thanks

According to How to Use Spotify on Apple Watch, you can't stream Spotify over the watches cellular connection.

You need your iPhone for that.

Unfortunately Spotify doesn’t stream from the Watch atm. I would suggest you download Apple Music or you can stream it with a cellular Watch
