iBook Author Glossary formatting question

Previously, when creating glossary terms, those terms were automatically formatted with boldface or Italics so they would be visible when reading. Now, I create a term, then "add link" to additional terms and the link works - they now function as they should - but the typeface remains normal so that they are not discernible as links. Someone suggested they would be when published but no, not there, either. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
