HomePod - Loud static after about 1 minute
Any suggestions on what might be the issue with one of my HomePods? I had not used the HomePod for a couple months. But upon activating it this afternoon, it played just fine for a minute or so, then started to emit static which gets louder and louder until you can't even hear the music. If I stop the music, the static continues. I have done a total reset of the HomePod multiple times (pressing and holding at the top of the device until Siri tells me she is resetting it). I have removed and re-added it several times to the Home app on my iPhone. I have powered off my cable modem/router and restarted (and then did all of HomePod resets again). Nothing seems to clear the static. I have moved the HomePod to a different location and tried again. Nothing. It seems to me that my HomePod is now malfunctioning just 2 weeks after my 1-year warranty has ended. Not happy right now. I have 2 more HomePods that seem to not have this issue. All of my software is up to date on all of the devices. The price that Apple charges to repair it seems to be $20 less than just buying a new one. But I don't think I will buy a new one if they might stop working after a year. It sounds great for a short period of time, then static begins. Any other ideas?
