Downgrading on Apple 4k TV tvOS 13 Beta

I woke up this morning and found my ATV 4k had received a software update to tvOS 13.0, and I am not even enrolled in the beta program, nor do I have the add/remove beta option on my ATV.

Resetting the ATV of course doesn't help. More than a little unhappy with this

Its impossible for an un-enrolled device to get the Beta. The Beta is simply to pushed to devices without the profile unless a major screw up with the update server has occurred. In which case we would be seeing tons of posts saying they ave been updated to tvOS13 which we have not.

It should be impossible. I have no beta profile on my ATV but still an update took place last night, I found the TV on at 3 am and a software update in progress. Now unless my cats have learnt how to do an update, it was pushed to me.

In About menu under settings it says:

tvOS 13.0 (17J5549c)

Have you ever been involved in any of Apple's beta programs? Assuming not a possibility was that someone mistakenly flagged the beta for general release momentarily at the same time that your Apple TV checked for updates. I can't otherwise see how or why your device could have downloaded it.

I was on the beta back in tvOS 11 or 12, but when it was release I disabled betas and unenrolled, so if it is because of that, I don't understand why I got this beta, but not the earlier versions.

Something is screwed up somewhere.

I'm having this exact same issue as above only I did join the beta with intent and now that tvOS 13 is out I wanted to remove the beta profile and start fresh by resetting my Apple TV today. Only problem, the option to remove the beta profile is no longer visible. I actually started researching going back to the regular software cycle and removing the beta profile weeks ago and the option to turn off the beta has been missing since I first checked. I know it was there at one point because I used it to join the public beta of tvOS 13 back when it was released.

I have two Apple TV's (One HD and one 4K) and both are behaving the same. Both are on version tvOS 13.0 (17J5549c) and nether are providing the option to remove the beta profile from the software update area of settings. I'm hoping to remove the profile so that I can reset the box and then allowing it to update with todays official GM release of tvOS 13 so I can start fresh and get the regular updates again.

Any thoughts on this one?

Does wait for next update mean that it‘s possible to update to tvOS 13 (no beta) when it comes out or have I to wait for tvOS 13.0.1 or higher?

Has got a beta a expirence date?

I'm afraid I know no more now than I did then. Perhaps something will show up on my ATVs when I get home.

It is unlikely that Apple would be able to do anything different, since it isn't possible to downgrade from any OS.

The whole point of being in the beta program is to root out potential issues and give feedback to Apple as part of the process of making sure it is stable for the official release. It is never recommended to install it on a main (mission critical) device for that reason.

Yes you were lucky. It makes it very clear that you can unenroll from the program but have to wait until the next release to remove the beta. Restoring will not remove it. Apple is not obligated to remove it and there is no official method for a user to do so nor is it possible to downgrade from a public version of TVOS.

The purpose for using beta software is for testing purposes and to help with the process of rooting out bugs. It is never recommended to install it on a main machine.
