Your computer was originally sold in 2013. If you want a computer that supports more recent instructions, buy a more modern computer. AVX2 is a part (or not) of the Instruction set of the Intel processor on board.
It's not a matter of Mac or PC or Linux. Its a matter of Intel instructions in your Intel processor..
Update... I contacted Apple and they said basically tough.... I think its time I go over to teh PC side as Mac is now behaving just like the old PC. Sad day.
Thanks. I purchased Divinity 2 from app store which stated my Mac Pro (late 2013) was able to run it. I have checked (thanks to your information) and I do not have the "AVX2 instruction set". So I guess that the app store (since its ran by Apple) needs to change its requirements so people like me don't get doped into purchasing the game.
