So, when you add to the timeline a video clip that has audio embedded in it, the audio and video get out of sync. Yet the sync is fine before adding to iMovie. Is that correct? Also would you confirm what version of iMovie you are using, and what operating system version?
If you are using iMovie 10, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if the sync is correct.
You can also try putting your clip into a newly created project and see if the clip plays properly there.
If still no luck, then try converting your audio/video clip to mp4/AAC with the free download, Handbrake. Then add the converted clip to your timeline. You can get Handbrake at this link:

Thanks for trying to help. When I add video to timeline to edit the voice and video and not together. The video file that I'm adding is in sync before I add to timeline. The orginal video is perfect. Hopefully this helps.
I am having trouble envisioning what you are describing. More details would help.
Try starting over with your project, first adding your video and then adding your audio.

Handbrake will convert to Mp4/AAC by default, so you don't need to mess with any settings.
