AUDIO/VIDEO NOT MATCHED IN TIMELINE

Im new to mac and imovie. When i play video and audio file, it is in sync. When i ad movie to timeline the audio is

off.

So, when you add to the timeline a video clip that has audio embedded in it, the audio and video get out of sync. Yet the sync is fine before adding to iMovie. Is that correct? Also would you confirm what version of iMovie you are using, and what operating system version?


If you are using iMovie 10, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if the sync is correct.


You can also try putting your clip into a newly created project and see if the clip plays properly there.


If still no luck, then try converting your audio/video clip to mp4/AAC with the free download, Handbrake. Then add the converted clip to your timeline. You can get Handbrake at this link:
