How to d/l High Sierra from app store

Running High Sierra on a Mac Mini from around 2010. After a electricity blackout the day before yesterday I have had problems with my machine. When it started after the blackout the date was set to 2001-01-01. Fixed that, but something has happened to the network connection. I want to re-install High Sierra again since my Mini is too old for Mojave.

When I look through Applications I have Install files for everything from Lion to Mojave except High Sierra. Don't know why. When I go to App Store I can find all my versions available for download, including Mojave, which I found I couldn't install, but not High Sierra. I know it's available there somewhere, but I can't find it. Can someone give me the magic formula which will take me to the right page. I promise this time I'll take a copy to backup before I use it.

Do you have access to another Mac computer where you can sign into the App Store using your Apple ID and download the OS. Then quit the installer.  You can make a bootable USB stick to install using these free programs which will do all the work for you. Boot the computer with the option/alt key held down and select the USB drive. Run Disk Utility and select First Aid. Then re-install the OS.

Thanks, I'd found that, but when I surf there, it says Open, and looks like it is going to try and install on the accessing computer. I've just been in my damaged computer, and tried to tether it to my phone with USB but it wouldn't so I need the actual Install MacOS High Sierra app to load via usb chip onto my Mac mini, and run it from there.

Thanks, Eric. Yes, I have access to another Mac, but when I get to the High Sierra app, it seems to want to go straight to an install, not download the app. Are you saying that the first stage is a download, and then it goes into the install phase and that I can somehow identify that cross-over and stop the installation phase, keeping the download?

I've tried that twice, and both times the installer sets in motion without waiting for me to do anything. So I've re-installed my other Mac twice now!

Additionally, there is no Install macOS High Sierra app in /Applications after installation, and before installation it is a measly 22,7 MB. So I have a newly installed second Mac, and no Install app. :(

Any suggestions?

Thank you, Dialabrain, that did it. I now have a copy of Install macOS High Sierra app on a usb stick, and soon on my backup disk.
